Spermarche

This may be a little uncomfortable to some, but we need to be equal.  If we cover girls, then we should cover boys. Spermarche is a boy’s first ejaculation of sperm.  Boys have had erections since they were infants, but ejaculation signals sperm production and the ability to get a girl pregnant.  It usually occurs between the ages of 12 and 16 with the average age being 13, but it can be earlier.  This first ejaculation often occurs during sleep, which is referred to as a nocturnal emission or a “wet dream,” or through masturbation (Berger, 2018, p. 404; MentalHelp.net, 2020).
